CeCeile Hartleib is an accomplished artist painting in the realist/impressionist style. She received her training at Atelier Le Sueur, Excelsior, MN, with additional evening classes at Atelier Lack, Minneapolis, MN. She also studied an additional year with well-known local artist, Stephen Gjertson. Prior to moving to Minnesota in 1987, she studied with several nationally recognized artists including Allan R. Banks and Daniel Greene.

CeCeile paints plein-air landscapes and maintains a studio in St. Paul, where she teaches private students and paints still-lifes and portrait commissions. She also teaches watercolor and plein air painting at The Atelier in Minneapolis. She exhibits her work at Flanders Gallery in Minneapolis, MN, Kelley Gallery in Woodbury, MN, and the Orange Dragon in Prescott, WI. She has won numerous awards for her works, which hang in corporate and private collections internationally.

CeCeile’s Portrait of Nikita Khruhschev is in the collection of Nikita’s son Sergei Khrushchev and his wife Valentina, has been used in TV interviews and was featured in an exhibition in Moscow, Russia, celebrating the 100
th anniversary of Nikita Khrushchev’s birthday. CeCeile’s Cathedral of St. Paul was purchased by Garrison Keillor and his wife, Jenny Lind Nilsson.
"My work is about seeing, about light, and the way it falls across forms, about interpreting nature. It is about moods or feelings created within me as I am painting, or within the viewer while looking at my works. I always hope my work will bring pleasure to others. "
